Spurs boss lauds attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen after his side beat Sunderland.
Tottenham Hotspur bounced back from their shock defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace last weekend with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland at White Hart Lane today, a result secured thanks to another late winner from Danish international Christian Eriksen, whose performance led to some kind words from manager Mauricio Pochettino after the game according to the Mail.

Eriksen has struck late on other occasions this season, notably at Swansea City and Hull City, with the former Ajax star having added more consistency to his game from an impressive debut seasons in the Premier League last term.
Speaking after the narrow win over Sunderland, Pochettino praised the “potential” and lauded his continual improvement, whilst still keeping expectations tempered by referencing the Dane’s tender age:
“He is still young, but he has big, big potential. He improves every day. I am happy for his performance.”
“His contribution is clear. I am happy because he is a very good guy, a good professional and a great player.”
Spurs were able to win the game at White Hart Lane despite a horrendous late error from the linesman, who ruled a late Jan Vertonghen goal out for offside despite the Belgian having ran from well inside his own half – a decision that Pochettino will be glad did not end up costing his side.
