Toronto To Sign Giovinco’s Brother To Help Italian Star Settle in Canada

Toronto are reportedly close to bringing in the brother of new signing Sebastian Giovinco.

The MLS side are keen to avoid a repeat of the Jermain Defoe debacle, where the player never settled and returned to the UK after a single unhappy season.

According to sources close to the club, attacking midfielder Giuseppe Giovinco could be confirmed as soon as next week.

He currently plays for Italian Lega Pro club Pisa. Like Sebastian, he began he career as a youth at Juventus, but never made an appearance for the first team and was allowed to leave.

In addition to Pisa, Giuseppe has also played for Carrarese and Viareggio – racking up 113 games and 17 goals in the process.
