It looked like it would be a long night for the Foxes as after some poor defending from a corner Laurent Koscielny swooped in to put in Mesut Ozil’s cross for the opener.
Then just before half-time an Ozil shot was saved by Mark Schwarzer straight into the path of Theo Walcott who scored his third goal in as many starts since returning from injury.
In the second half Leicester regrouped, but could have conceded a penalty when Danny Simpson clearly handled the ball in the box.
It was not given though and when Andrej Kramaric pulled one back for the visitors it looked as if Nigel Pearson’s side could earn a much needed point in their relegation scrap, but it wasn’t to be.
