The Dutchman has been continually linked with Premier League rivals Manchester United, but Yarsuvat says the only way the Turkish side’s star midfielder would join the Premier League would be with Jose Mourinho’s side.

“Chelsea made an offer for Wesley Sneijder at the start of the season,” he said, according to the Metro.

“He could have been beside Jose Mourinho, that is the only club he would have joined. But he’s happy at Galatasaray.”

Sneijder starred at Inter Milan under Jose Mourinho, and was a key face in the side that managed to win the treble in 2010.

Chelsea were looking for reinforcements in midfield this summer, but it’s suggested that any move for Sneijder broke down when the Blues managed to capture ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.

And you’d certainly say Mourinho made the right decision, with the 27-year-old becoming an integral part of the Blues side that currently sit top of the Premier League. Having already provided a quite staggering 15 assists in just 22 appearances, he could be set to break records this campaign.
