Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is set to sing a one-year extension to his existing contract, Mirror Football report.
Carrick’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Louis Van Gaal has made it clear that he wants to keep the experienced midfielder.
Having suffered an ankle injury in pre-season which kept him out for the first few months of the campaign, the former Spurs play-maker became a regular in the team at both centre back and holding midfield.

However, a calf injury has disrupted Carrick’s involvement in recent weeks but he looks like he’s set to stay at Old Trafford for a while longer.
The deal, according to reports, will run for 12 months and will include an option of another year which would see Carrick’s stay at Man United exceed 10 years.
