LB- Ryan Bertrand
The first signing following the Southampton exodus, Saints fans should have known that things would be ok when a Champions League winner arrived. His good form saw his loan move be made permanent for around £10m in January, and the faith that Ronald Koeman put in him has been repaid, as Southampton have conceded the least goals in the league this season.
RM- Alexis Sanchez
The former Barcelona player has made a lightning start to his Premier League career, helping to guide Arsenal to third in the table. He is the highest scoring midfielder in the league this season, and sits in fifth overall. As football fans continue to discuss the value of the Mesut Ozil deal, there is no doubt that the £30m spent on Sanchez was money well invested.
CM- Cesc Fabregas
With 15, the former Chelsea midfielder has nearly double the number of assists of any other Premier League player this season. Fabregas has been an integral part of the Chelsea dominance, leaving Arsenal fans devastated that Arsene Wenger didn’t try harder to bring the Spaniard back to Emirates.
CM- Nemanja Matic
Perhaps the biggest compliment that anyone can pay Nemanja Matic is that he is arguably Chelsea’s best transfer deal. His return to the club last year has seemingly been the missing piece in the jigsaw for Chelsea, helping them move back in title contention, but also highlighting how foolish the club were to let him go in the first place.
