Young Boys will have to be at their absolute best if they are to even force extra time against a merciless Everton side which beat them 4-1 in their own back yard.

The Swiss side will likely include striker Alexander Gerndt in their squad. The Swedish play missed the first leg, and the majority of 2014, with an ankle injury but returned to score a brace against Super League table toppers Basel.

Scorer from the first leg and former Paris Saint-Germain hit man Guillaume Hoarau will also be pushing to start the match after he too scored this weekend.

Everton, on the other hand, will be forced into two changes from the weekend as John Stones must serve a suspension following his red card in Bern while Aaron Lennon is cup-tied.

Romelu Lukaku will be eager to play in the match as he looks to have picked up some form this season, after following up his first leg hat-trick with a late equaliser at the weekend.

Christian Atsu could start for the Toffees with Roberto Martinez possibly taking this game as an opportunity to test out players on the fringes of his first team, with the tie seemingly all but sewn up.

Domestically, Everton’s situation is nothing like as rosy as Young Boys’, having come back to scrape a draw at home to Premier League bottom side Leicester this weekend, as they sit 12th and six points above the relegation zone.
