The 20-year-old has been in fine form this season, but is currently one of the lowest earners in Spurs’ first team squad.
Tim Sherwood gave Bentaleb his debut in the middle of last season as the team looked for some fresh impetus to kick-start their stuttering campaign. His performances earned him a place in Algeria’s World Cup squad, and he is now a regular starter in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Although he still has three years remaining on his current deal, Bentaleb is expected to sign a deal that will put him onto similar wages as Harry Kane and Ryan Mason, both of whom have just signed extensions.
Spurs’ next game is a trip to QPR in the league on Saturday.
