According to the Metro, the Gunners are stepping up their interest in the German international, who has really caught the eye with some dazling displays in the Bundesliga this season.
Arsenal may be about to lose Theo Walcott to Liverpool as recent speculation suggests they want the England wide-man as a replacement if Raheem Sterling joins Manchester City.
