The team contained an interesting mix of players whose careers flopped almost at the first hurdle and players who went on to establish themselves among the best in England and the world.

One name in particular which stands out is Andy Campbell, formerly of Middlesbrough and Cardiff City, who fired the Bluebirds to England’s second tier, but later sank to the depths of non-league with likes of Farsley Celtic and Bradford Park Avenue.

Along with Campbell, the line-up includes flops such as Kieron Dyer and Seth Johnson alongside Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Carragher himself.
