The goal helped secure a draw for the Irish after a poor first half in which their opponents took a deserved lead.
They are now two points behind Scotland and Germany in their European Championship qualifying group on eight points in fourth place.
Poland are top and three points ahead of Martin O’Neill’s side.
With the top two qualifying for Euro 2016 automatically and the third placed side having a play off, this means that Ireland still have a very real chance of playing in France next year.
How important could this goal end up being? Has it saved their campaign?
