Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson wants midfield man Esteban Cambiasso to be his side’s secret weapon when they come up against runaway Premier League leaders Chelsea tomorrow night.
The relegation-threatened Foxes face the unenviable task of throwing a spanner in the works of their opponents’ title charge, but former Inter Milan star Cambiasso does have the pedigree to mix it with Jose Mourinho’s men.
And the Daily Star reports that Pearson is pinning his hopes on the Argentine to do the business and give Leicester’s survival hopes a major lift, because he played under Mourinho at the San Siro.
He said: “I would say it is very probable he will know Mourinho’s approach.”
The match is of huge significance to both sides. Chelsea can move to within one victory of their first Premier League title since 2010, when Carlo Ancelotti was at the helm.
Leicester are fighting for their lives at the other end of the table. They currently occupy 17th place in the table, one point above the dreaded relegation zone.
