Aston Villa star wants Anfield switch.
Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke will push for a summer move to Liverpool according to the Metro.
The Anfield side are keen to strengthen their woeful attack in the summer and will offer £30m for the Belgian marksman.
Though the Villa Park are reticent to sell the 24 year old the Metro claim Benteke will look to ‘force’ a transfer despite his side’s upturn in form since the appointment of Tim Sherwood as replacement for manager Paul Lambert.
Benteke racked up 23 goals in his debut season in England but had gone off the boil over the following 18 months but his run of 12 goals in 11 appearances in recent months has helped steer Aston Villa clear of the drop as well as securing an FA Cup final berth.
Liverpool new boys Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli have managed just three Premier League goals between them and as such additional firepower is certainly needed.
