The former Arsenal man saw his career stall in Catalonia, where despite winning the Liga BBVA crown and the Spanish Super Cup, he struggled to integrate himself into the first team.

He returned to the Premier League—where he previously featured for Charlton Athletic, as well as the Gunners—on loan last summer after agreeing a temporary switch to West Ham United.

The Hammers had hoped to secure the midfielder on a permanent deal this summer following a series of commanding, impactful displays, but as Song’s stock rose once again, bigger clubs became interested in the Cameroon international.

The midfielder himself revealed that he was keen on a permanent switch to either Chelsea or Liverpool, according to the Express, with the same source revealing that both clubs were readying bids for the midfielder.

However, Calciomercato have reported that another of the player’s admirers—AC Milan—are now targeting the Indomitable Lion.

Should the Rossoneri succeed in signing Song, it would mean that he would become one of the few players in world football today to have featured in four of Europe’s major five leagues, having previously also represented SC Bastia in Ligue 1.
