Anfield side keen on landing Italian international.
Liverpool are in talks to sign Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo according to the Metro.
The 36 year old looks likely to leave Turin this summer and though a number of offers have come in from MLS sides it appears the Italian international may well find himself making a move to the Premier League.
Though clearly in the latter stages of his glittering career there is no denying Pirlo can still make an impact at the highest level, the Juventus star having played a key role in his side’s latest Serie A triumph as well as helping Massimiliano Allegri’s side on their run to the Champions League final.
Brendan Rodgers may see Pirlo as a perfect, if clearly not long term, replacement for Steven Gerrard but the club’s lack of a Champions League berth could prove a major obstacle in their pursuit of the former AC Milan man.
The set-piece specialist moved to Juventus in 2011 and has been a player reborn, helping Juventus to four successive domestic title triumphs, and may well be tempted by a move to Chelsea with the Stamford Bridge side also said to be keen on acquiring Pirlo.
