In claims cited in the Express, the Brazil international could have been used as part of a player-plus-cash deal to land in-demand Juve midfielder Paul Pogba; however, the newspaper believe that such a transfer move from the Premier League champions isn’t likely.

According to the report, the Serie A champions have made an enquiry to the Blues about the availability of Oscar, and have asked whether the west London outfit would be willing to sell for £18 million.

Mourinho, however, is reportedly confident that the 23-year-old can rediscover his form next season and could be spurred on by the disappointment of missing out on this summer’s Copa America tournament through injury. The playmaker, therefore, looks set to remain in the English capital.

Oscar made just 26 starts in England’s top flight last term, with Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Willian and Eden Hazard the favoured options in midfield.

Nonetheless, despite his impressive performances having dwindled slightly from his previous two seasons at Stamford Bridge, the former Internacional star registered a respectable eight assists and scored six goals in a campaign that saw Chelsea lift the Premier League title for the first time in five years.

It was his sublime back-heel that set up Hazard’s winner against rivals Manchester United at the end of May, which secured a key victory over their rivals.
