The young German side fell behind to a splendid finish from former Southampton loanee Fillip Duricic in the eighth minute, but Can’s goal has levelled matters in the Czech Republic.
The Reds youngster is playing in his favoured defensive midfield role for Germany but has the license to roam and took his goal like an accomplished centre-forward.
Can is one of few players to have come out of a disappointing season with the Anfield outfit with any credit after impressing many since joining from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
However his form tailed off towards the end of the campaign as evidence of him not being comfortable playing at centre-half began to show. He was sent-off against Arsenal and then had a terrible game against Stoke City on the final day of the season.
The 21-year-old has shown just what he’s capable of when playing further forward, but will that convince Brendan Rodgers to play him there next season?
