Arsenal have signed Petr Cech from London rivals Chelsea for around £11 million, according to the Daily Mail. Fans have taken to Twitter to react.
This could be a great deal for the Gunners, who are in need of a top class goalkeeper if they are going to challenge for the Premier League title next season. During the last campaign questions were raised over the suitability of both Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina, and the 33-year-old has proven pedigree at the highest level.
Meanwhile the Blues shouldn’t be too worried about losing the stopper, with Thibaut Courtois taking his place their team last term. Indeed they could celebrate all the Czech Republic international for all he has done for the club. Since joining the London outfit in 2004 he has been a regular in the team, helping them to win four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, the Europa League, and the Champions League.
However, it seems some have taken a different tack and described him as a traitor to the Stamford Bridge side…
Cech is a snake, there is no defending him. No player is bigger than the club. I wish him every possible failure while he’s at Arsenal.

Cech sold his soul for game time. He won’t be remembered as a legend at either club, and overall he’s had a nothing career.

Ill never forget what Cech has achieved for Chelsea but can his name be mentioned alongside Terry, Lampard and Drogba anymore? Probably not.

‘Cech is a legend’. No. He’s not. Good player who got paid top money to do his job at a top club. Now joins a rival. So long.

Luckily Arsenal fans are much happier about the signing…
Cech has won everything in his career. Has been a role model to many GK’s out there. Will probably bring his GK coach too. Can’t wait now!

Absolutely buzzing, we’ve signed the greatest GK in Chelsea’s history. Cech is a Gooner.

Excited about signing of Petr Cech by @Arsenal. A truly great goalkeeper joining a truly great football club

Some did take the news a bit less seriously as well…
Tbh cech was never going to win a Twitter poll at Chelsea so I don’t blame him for going to arsenal.

Twitter will go down for 3 years maintenance if this Cech deal doesn’t happen
