The Turkish international has been  a revelation under Diego Simeone, who has done a fantastic job in establishing Atletico as a major force in Spanish and European football over the last few seasons.

Turan scored three goals and registered four assists in 30 appearances during the 2013/14 campaign in which Atletico were crowned La Liga champions and also featured heavily in their run to the Champions League final that season.

The 28-year-old has been in Spain since the summer of 2011 and took to social media to reveal he could leave the club during transfer window with a message posted on his official Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.

This news is likely to alert Premier League trio of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United as all have been linked with a move for Turan in the last week [via Star Sport].

The Blues are on the market to further strengthen their squad ahead of their title defence this season and an attacking midfielder is thought to be high on manager Jose Mourinho’s wishlist.

Metro Sport claimed late last week that the Blues are joint favourites along with United to complete a move for Turan and are set to launch a bid in the region of £29.1m for the Atletico star.

The Red Devils have made just one addition to the squad that finished fourth last season as highly-rated Dutch winger Memphis Depay is set to officially join on July 1, but manager Louis van Gaal is expected to invest heavily in new players this summer and could be closing in on a double swoop for Turan and Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, if reports in Mirror Sport are correct.

Meanwhile Liverpool, who have agreed deals with no less than five players before the start of July, are showing no signs of slowing down in the transfer market and have also been credited with an interest in the Turkish midfielder as they look to replace out-going skipper Steven Gerrard.

Turan’s agent hinted last week that a move to England is a possibility [via Independent Sport] and it looks to be a straight fight between the Premier League clubs, although Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain could also be in the mix as the fourth club, following reports in Mirror Sport.
