Former Manchester United and Arsenal star to earn EYE-WATERING £47.4 million from latest transfer

Former Manchester United and Arsenal star Robin van Persie is set to earn £47.4 million from his move to Fenerbahce, reports the Daily Star.

The 31-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Turkish side, which will pay him £240,000 a week. Over the entire duration of the contract the Holland international will earn £37,440,000. This is added to the money that the striker received for leaving the Red Devils before the end of his deal.

The former Gunner had another £13 million left to be paid at Old Trafford, and he has negotiated for around half of that to be paid to him now. This brings the total money the move has generated for the forward to a mind-boggling £47,440,000.

Last season van Persie scored ten goals in 29 games, and showed signs of his age catching up with him. Injuries, which had been a feature of his time with Arsenal, started to reappear and the striker found it hard to find the form which had fired United to the title two campaigns earlier.

However, this hasn’t put off the Super Lig side, who will be hoping the player can help them challenge Galatasaray domestically and perhaps qualify for the Champions League.
