Three in, Three Out: Liverpool find buyers for misfiring strike trio

Liverpool have successfully secured a trio of quality attacking talents this summer and will now look to offload three under-performing talents.

Brendan Rodgers has snapped up Burnley’s Danny Ings, Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino and Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke in what has proven a very busy summer transfer window thus far.

Veteran England man Rickie Lambert failed to retain a foothold in the Liverpool starting eleven in his debut season at the club, netting just two Premier League goals, and is now said to be a player newly appointed Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is after (via the Daily Mirror).

Rodgers took something of a risk signing Mario Balotelli and the Italian looks likely to leave Liverpool after just one season at the club with a move to Sampdoria being discussed (via Goal.com).

The chances of Liverpool recouping a significant portion of the £16m they paid for the former Man City man seem slim.
