Liverpool have told Serie A giants Fiorentina that they will not entertain any offers that are less than £8million for Italian striker Fabio Borini, talkSPORT reports.
It was revealed on Wednesday that La Viola had opened talks with their Premier League counterparts for the signing of the former Chelsea and AS Roma centre-forward and they were expected to table an offer in the region of £6million.
However, that fee is unlikely to be enough to lure Borini to the Stadio Artemio Franchi stadium as the Merseyside outfit are insisting that the Italians raise their offer for the player, who is surplus to requirements at Anfield this season following the arrivals of Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings at the club this summer.
The transfer saga could be resolved swiftly as it’s understood that Fiorentina boss Paulo Sousa wants to sign the 24-year-old before the start of their new Serie A campaign, which begins with a home game against AC Milan on August 23.

Last season Borini managed to score just one goal in 12 Premier League appearances and a return to his home country in a bid to get more first-team football under his belt could increase his chances of being included in the Italy squad for next summer’s European Championships.
