Liverpool trio set for Serie A transfers as Brendan Rodgers seeks to trim expansive squad

Anfield side set for clear-out.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has spent extensively this summer and will look to balance the books with the sale of three players.

The Daily Star reports that Lucas Leiva and Mamadou Sakho could be on their way to Italy.

Brazilian battler Lucas is a surprise Juventus target with such a move proving tough to fathom given that the 28-year-old is no longer part Rodgers’ first-team plans and as such the possibility of a move to the Serie A giants would be something of a shock.

French defender Sakho is said to be a target for AS Roma and the 25-year-old was not part of Liverpool’s first team squad for their opening weekend win over Stoke City.
