Theo Walcott: Premier League rivals will be worried by Arsenal form

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott believes that his side’s ability to secure a good start to the Premier League season, despite really getting into gear, will worry the North London side’s title rivals.

Walcott netted during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Stoke City and has now scored 11 goals in his last 11 Premier League starts and also grabbed a brace during England’s recent 6-0 win over minnows San Marino and will hope to keep himself fully fit and in form for a sustained period.

“When people say we’re not playing great – we are starting to get to where we want to be,” Walcott told reporters,

“and, when we do hit that, people will be more and more worried.

“It’s the sign of a good team if you’re steady going but still getting the results. It’s all about getting three points at this moment in time. No-one is going to remember the start of the season. It’s all about how we finish.

“People may not have seen the best of us yet but we are keeping clean sheets and creating a lot of chances. We’re especially pleased with the clean sheet. We look very solid and we’re not letting many chances against us.” Walcott added.

Fellow forward Olivier Giroud also netted against Stoke City though overall Arsenal have managed just five goals in five games thus far this term and Arsene Wenger may well still see his relative lack of action in the transfer market come back to haunt him before the season is out.
