Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is hoping that the club can break their transfer record to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, according to the Daily Express.

The Express claims that Mourinho is a big fan of the France international and had been tracking him all throughout the summer, and though nothing concrete materialised his list of admirers has only grown since the start of the season.

League rivals Manchester United were also thought to be on his trail during the transfer window when manager Louis van Gaal stated that the club were looking at a “mystery striker”, but they ended up signing Anthony Martial from Monaco instead (via Express).

Arsenal have also been mooted as a possible destination for the Atletico Madrid man (via Express), but Spanish publication Fichajes believe that Chelsea could make a move for him as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard.

Recent reports via The Express are claiming that the Belgian international could be on his way to Real Madrid as national team boss Marc Wilmots worries that he will suffer burnout at Stamford Bridge.
