Bayern lining up ex-Chelsea hero to replace Man City-bound Pep Guardiola

Carlo Ancelotti has been revealed as Bayern Munich’s pick should Pep Guardiola leave the German giants for a move to the Premier League at the season’s end.

Despite recent rumours linking the ex-Barcelona manager with a move to Manchester United, rumours would suggest he appears destined to take over at Manchester City in the summer where, despite a wealth of resources and a number of big-name players, Manuel Pellegrini remains unconvincing.

While Bayern would like to keep hold of Guardiola—having recently offered the coach a new deal—they are eyeing up former Chelsea manager Ancelotti as their No. 1 replacement should the Catalonian hero leave.

According to The Sun, they have almost completely agreed terms with the Italian coach, who is waiting in the wings to step in should Guardiola leave the club.

While Guardiola—who has enjoyed great success in the Bundesliga since taking over at the Allianz Arena—currently holds power over his future, Bayern are unwilling to be held to ransom, and would reportedly reveal Ancelotti’s appointment in January should Pep keep them waiting.
