Manchester United hero linked with shock Premier League return

Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic could be set for a second spell in England with both Aston Villa and Everton linked with a move.

According to talkSPORT, the former Serbian international is expected to see his contract terminated by Inter next month which will pave the way for him to join another club.

After a disappointing spell in Italy, it has been suggested that a return to England is the most likely option for Vidic, despite the fact that Roberto Mancini arguably doubts whether or not the veteran will be able to find his form and fitness again.

Should the former United star opt to continue, Everton have been touted as a possible destination as they continue to search for defensive reinforcements ahead of an important second half of the campaign for Roberto Martinez.

However, Villa have also emerged as an option, although it is unclear as to whether or not the experienced centre-half would be keen on being involved in a relegation battle as Remi Garde’s side continue to sit bottom of the Premier League table ahead of the Christmas schedule.

Nevertheless, it appears as though it is inevitable that Vidic will be calling time on his spell at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and so it remains to be seen which option he chooses to take as he will likely also have interest from around Europe and MLS.
