Arsene Wenger desperate to bring former Man United striker to Arsenal

Arsenal are believed to be planning a surprise move to bring former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League during the January transfer window, according to Spanish publication Don Balon.

Manager Arsene Wenger is said to be a huge admirer of the Mexican international and is keen to launch a move to attempt Bayer Leverkusen to part with him.

Hernandez departed Old Trafford over the summer, but has been in flying form for the Bundesliga giants so far this term, notching up 18 goals.

And his form in Germany has not gone unnoticed back in the UK, leading Wenger to contemplate a move for him in the new year.

The report also claims that there is interest in his signature from Italy, though the player isn’t believed to be interested in making a move to Serie A.

Hernandez cut a popular figure at United, and Louis van Gaal’s decision to move him on over the summer proved to be a poor decision, and any potential move to Arsenal would almost certainly upset their fan base.
