Man United ready to pounce for unhappy Real Madrid star and build squad around him

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is set to end James Rodriguez’s Real Madrid nightmare by making him on offer to head to Old Trafford in the new year, according to reports in Spain.

The Colombian international is known to be unhappy with life under Rafa Benitez at the moment and has only been on the periphery of the squad this season, but van Gaal is known admirer of the playmaker.

Rodriguez was a regular started Carlo Ancelotti last season, and repaid the Italian’s faith in spades with a series of fine performances, but in recent weeks his predicament has seen him linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

And now reports in Spain are claiming that United are growing increasingly interested in snapping him up and will try to tempt him into pushing through an exit by outlining plans to build the side around him.
