Though Mesut Ozil appears more than capable of handling the midfield workload by himself (as he often has through the first half of the season), Arsenal lack depth at midfield and are expected to be without key players like Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and others for an extended period of time. With cash to spend this January, Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic appears to be the next man on Arsene Wenger’s transfer radar.
According to the Metro, Wenger is getting in touch with the necessary people to make a deal for the 23-year-old Inter Milan man after scouting him throughout the season. Per the source, Inter Milan will sell Brozovic for a transfer fee of £18.4 million.
Though Brozovic is on loan to Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb and technically still under contract with the Croatian club, the Metro reported that there is a “buy option” on the deal.
Brozovic has three goals with Inter Milan this season, and scored in back-to-back games earlier this December.
