While there are plenty of jokes to be made about the number of French superstars occupying the Arsenal ranks, such Olivier Giroud, Flamini and of course Arsene Wenger, one has to admit that they have been getting the most out of their French players, and Laurent Koscielny was the man of the hour for the Gunners today.
Per Squawka, Koscielny put up some absolutely incredible numbers in Arsenal’s big win over Newcastle United. Dubbing him “Bosscielny,” the site noted that the 30-year-old centre-back had an incredible 91% pass accuracy along with 5 cleared balls, 4 interceptions, 3 blocks and of course the lone goal in the team’s 1-0 win.
Koscielny earned Man of the Match honors for his efforts in the win, which gave Arsenal a Premier League-leading 42 points on the season, his third time earning the award for the Gunners this season. He was also named Man of the Match for France in their 1-0 win over Portugal in a friendly back in September.
The French back has played for Arsenal since 2011, scoring at least three goals in each of his six seasons with the club.
