Video: Dele Alli scores the Goal of the Year in win over Crystal Palace

The Premier League is not necessarily known for having the super-flashy goals that La Liga or Bundesliga have, but Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli may have just given both leagues a run for their money for Goal of the Year 2016 with quite possibly the greatest flick goal in recent memory.

With the Spurs tied 1-1 with Crystal Palace, Alli pulled off one of the greatest goals is recent memory: an almost indescribably beautiful flick that Alli bounces off his legs several times before finally firing right past Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to take a 2-1 lead:

The goal by Alli was his sixth of the season – good for second on the high-scoring Tottenham first-team – and was his 10th contributed goal (factoring in his four assists).

Even England manager Roy Hodgson, who was in attendance, was impressed with how his teenage call-up performed on that beautiful goal.

Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski and Sergio Aguero have all been put on notice: There is a new elite goal scorer in European football.
