According to reports in Turkey, Lukas Podolski could become the next player to make the move from European football to China.

Teams in the Chinese Super League have been ambitious so far this transfer window, with the likes of Ramires, Fredy Guarin and Gervinho all swapping life at top clubs in major European leagues for a lucrative future in the CSL.

Podolski could be the next player to join them, according to Yibada, with the Turkish source noting that Didier Drogba’s former club Shanghai Shenhua are keen on adding Podolski to the acquisition of Guarin.

German source Bild—as noted by Yibada—have reported that the Chinese giants have offered the World Cup-winning attacker an eye-watering €9 million-per-year deal to move to China.

The 30-year-old currently represents Istanbul heavyweights Galatasaray, having previously featured for Koln, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.

Podolski moved to Arsenal from Koln in 2012, and after initially impressing—scoring 11 goals in 33 outings in his first season in North London—he steadily fell out of favour with Arsene Wenger, before being loaned to Inter and then sold to Gala in 2015.
