Liverpool ready to make surprise move for young Chelsea star

Liverpool are said to be weighing up a move to sign forgotten Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen at the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

The Danish international is yet to make his mark on the Chelsea first team, but is now coming to the end of the first of a two-year loan spell with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.

And while ‘Galdbach are said to be looking into chasing a permanent deal of their own, reports in the UK are claiming that Liverpool are also keen on snapping him up.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is known to be on the lookout for new defenders ahead of next season and views Christiansen as a major talent.

However, the Reds would not only have to agree an initial fee with Chelsea for his signature, they would also have to cough up some compensation to Borussia for cutting his loan deal short halfway.
