Arsenal ready to ramp up Riyad Mahrez interest as Leicester admit defeat in keeping midfield star

Arsenal are set to step up their efforts to sign Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez this summer as Leicester are reportedly resigning themselves to his inevitable exit, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Algerian international has been one of Leicester’s stand out performers this season as his form has helped transform them from relegation candidates to shock title contenders, and he has garnered a serious level of interest in the process.

And it is believed that Arsenal are amongst the most interested in vying for his signature, though the report also claims that Barcelona and Chelsea are amongst those keen on snapping him up.

Leicester are thought to be resigned to losing him at the end of the season and are now gearing themselves up to sell for the right offer.

The report states that Barcelona would be his preferred destination, but with a bidding war likely to follow, an extended stay in the Premier League could be the most likely outcome.
