Exquisite Manchester United playmaker wanted by EPL rivals; Arsenal, West Ham also keen

According to The Guardian, Manchester United‘s Michael Carrick is attracting serious interest from Everton ahead of a potential summer move.

The veteran playmaker’s current contract at Old Trafford comes to an end at the beginning of June, and while he has indicated that he would be keen on extending his deal with the Red Devils, no offer has yet been forthcoming.

While Carrick, at 34, likely has his best years behind him, the former Tottenham Hotspur man has no shortage of admirers.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the England international, while another of his former clubs—West Ham United—have also been linked with the midfielder’s signature.

However, Everton are set to rival the aforementioned pair, with Roberto Martinez understood to consider Carrack as potentially valuable cover for his existing midfield options.

The Spanish coach may have an ideal opportunity to cast his eyes over his potential new recruit in the FA Cup semi-final, with Everton set for a date with United following the latter’s quarter-final victory over West Ham United earlier this week.
