Manchester United wonderkid looks set to be coaxed into making big decision on future

According to reports in the Netherlands, Ghana are keen on securing the international future of Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

Speaking to Dutch source Algemeen Dagblad, a spokesman for Stellar Group has confirmed that the Black Stars have made contact with the youngster and a representative as they look to convince him to commit his international future to the West African nation.

“They have called us,” the spokesman began, “Ghana indeed want to convince him to choose them.”

The teenager has featured six times in the Premier League so far this season, having been drafted into the Manchester United first team to cover for the club’s defensive deficiencies.

The 18-year-old made his debut in the 3-2 victory over Arsenal, featuring for 35 minutes, before playing the full 90 as United saw off Watford 1-0 in EPL action at the beginning of March.

Since then, Fosu-Mensah has been involved regularly, and has looked surprisingly composed for one so young. Indeed, he was a key performer against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, with the Lilywhites only taking control of the match after the right-back was substituted.

Amsterdam-born Fosu-Mensah has represented the Netherlands at various youth levels up to the U-19 team.
