Reports in Italy suggest that Chelsea are planning a transfer raid on Serie A this summer, with two excellent defensive talents on the club’s radar.
According to Gazzetta World, Chelsea are interested in a move for Internazionale’s Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, a player who has long been tipped for a move to the Premier League.
Thibaut Courtois has endured a miserable season, while it remains to be seen whether incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will consider backup stopper Asmir Begovic as a potential option for the No. 1 jersey.
However, it remains to be seen whether Handanovic, at 31, would be willing to leave Lombardy for a club who couldn’t offer him Champions League football.
The Gazzetta have also credited Chelsea with keen interest in Napoli’s defensive powerhouse Kalidou Koulibaly.
