Manchester United legend set for SHOCK managerial move to English football

Manchester United great Jaap Stam is under consideration for the Reading job following the dismissal of Brian McDermott.

55-year-old McDermott was relieved of his duties for his second time at the Madejski Stadium after having struggled with the Royals this season, ending the Championship season down in 17th place.

This falls way short of the standards set by Sir John Madejski who has decided to pull the plug on McDermott’s troubled regime and turn to someone new.

According to the Daily Mail, that someone could be Stam, with the tabloid suggesting that the Dutch great is in the frame to take his first post as a No. 1.

The former centre-back has begun to learn his trade as part of Ajax’s coaching staff, but having left the academy backroom at the season’s end, he looks primed for a return to the English game.
