Real Madrid eye £75m swap deal for Chelsea superstar

Real Madrid appear to have a bold strategy in place to bring Eden Hazard to the Bernabeu – and it may prove quite tempting for Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mirror, Real Madrid are prepared to offer striker Alvaro Morata plus £35 million in exchange for Hazard – a value of £75 million per the source.

The Daily Star noted that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the Belgium vice-captain and the admiration is mutual.

However, the Star noted that Chelsea are eager to retain Hazard in spite of his down-year and believe that new manager Antonio Conte can get the most out of the 25-year-old midfielder.

Hazard was the 2015 Premier League Player of the Season as he led Chelsea to Premier League and League Cup titles, but struggled along with many of his teammates the following year.

In 31 Premier League appearances for the Blues in the 2015-16 season, he scored just four goals and three assists – with all four goals coming in a one-month stretch very late in the year.
