Juan Mata latest: Man Utd playmaker will fight to stay amid interest from Everton

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata is willing to fight for his place at Old Trafford amid interest from Everton according to the Daily Mail.

The report states that Jose Mourinho’s arrival at United has cast doubt over the Spain international future at the club however, Mata wants to return to pre-season training and start afresh.

Mourinho offloaded Mata to United for £37m in January 2014 while he was manager of Chelsea because he believed Spaniard did not fit into his game plan.

The Daily Mail also state that pressure on Mata to stake a claim for a first team place will intensify further following the proposed signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.

The Sun have reported that Mata’s future at Old Trafford is under threat following the appointment of Mourinho and states that Everton are preparing a £20 million offer for the Spain international.

The Spain international scored 10 times while providing 11 assists for United last season and has another two-years left on his contract.
