Manchester United put Spanish midfielder up for sale

Manchester United have transfer listed Spanish attacking midfielder Juan Mata according to the Irish Independent.

The report claims that Mourinho has put Mata up for sale despite reports that he would give the 28-year-old a chance to fight for his place at Old Trafford according to the Daily Mail.

Mourinho’s arrival at United cast doubt over the Spain international’s future but Mata was keen on staying at the club and returning to pre-season training.

Mata does of course still have another two-years remaining on his current deal with United and did score 10 times while providing 11 assists last season.

Mata has been closely linked with a move to Villarreal, Stoke and Turkish giants Fenerbahce recently and The Sun claim that Everton are prepared to make a £20 million bid for the attacking midfielder.

Mourinho also got rid of Mata during his time in charge of Chelsea. The Spanish intentional was sold to United in January 2014 and ironically the Portuguese international could this time get rid of Mata from Old Trafford.

The Spain international scored 10 times while providing 11 assists for United last season and has another two-years left on his contract.
