Euro 2016 star eyes Borussia Dortmund move to escape second tier football

Newcastle United superstar Moussa Sissoko is eager to avoid joining his club in the Championship division next season, and has been pursued by a variety of Premier League clubs. But a Champions League contender have joined the mix for the French superstar.

According to Sun Sport, Sissoko is now being courted by Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. The German club now lead the way in the transfer race for his signature over the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Per the source, Newcastle United have slapped a £35 million price tag on the star midfielder.

Sissoko had one of the finest performances of his career in the Euro 2016 Final, displaying great skill and solid shooting even though France were shut out of the 1-0 loss to Portugal.

The 26-year-old Sissoko had one goal and seven assists in the Premier League this past year, but Newcastle United could not avoid the dreaded drop into the Championship division. A move would allow Sissoko to avoid sharing his club’s fate.
