Antonio Conte wields Chelsea axe as promising 20-year-old sent out on loan

Chelsea forward Bertrand Traore has reportedly completed a season-long loan move to Ajax as Antonio Conte continues to make changes to his squad.

The 20-year-old made his Premier League debut last season, and successfully managed to enjoy a run in the team as he made 16 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.

However, it hasn’t been enough to convince Conte to keep him as he stamps his mark on the Chelsea squad, with The Sun reporting that the youngster has secured a loan move to Ajax.

It’s added in the report that Traore will now be available for the club’s crunch Champions League play-off encounter with Rostov on Tuesday, and he will be desperate to make an immediate impression.

As for Chelsea, the move now seemingly paves the way for them to bring in another forward as Conte is lacking in options in that department.

New signing Michy Batshuayi will join Diego Costa as options up front, while it remains to be seen what the future holds for Loic Remy who seems to have fallen out of favour.

In turn, there seems to be an expectation that the Italian tactician will move to bring in another striker before the deadline, as he simply doesn’t possess enough depth at the moment.

The identity of that new striker is unknown with various names being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but it’s evident that he’ll need more firepower and potentially more quality elsewhere on the pitch before the transfer window closes in order to make a real run at winning trophies this season.
