Liverpool beat Burton 5-0 in the League Cup at the Pirelli Stadium in what turned out to be their first clean sheet of the season.
Joy soon turned to anguish however, when Reds boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that star midfielder had picked up an ankle injury.
Klopp underlined that he hoped the injury was not serious but did point out that Can suffered with a similar issue last season.

Klopp is already without Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez, Lucas Leiva and Sheyi Ojo and faces a tough trip to White Hart Lane where his side will take on Tottenham on the weekend.
Can missed the 2-0 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor on the weekend due to a minor back injury and this was his first start of the season.
Klopp was expected to rest Can with the Spurs game on the weekend looming but decided to give him the start.
The Germany international of Turkish origin was expected to be rested against Burton but Klopp has decided to give him the nod.
