Agent slams Jurgen Klopp for treatment of ex-Liverpool man while enigmatic ace has something to say to club hero

Mario Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, has hit out at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for his treatment of the striker during his time at the club.

The 26-year-old was snubbed by the German tactician for the club’s pre-season tour and spent most of the summer training with the youth team.

Despite pushing to salvage something from his time at Anfield, it didn’t work as the Italian forward secured a deadline-day move to Nice in a permanent deal.

Raiola has revealed that he was far from impressed with Klopp’s way of dealing with the situation, and has expressed it in no uncertain terms.

“In the end, the higher-ups at Liverpool admitted that Klopp was wrong,” Raiola told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m not trying to judge him as a coach, although, for me, he’s not a good coach, but he didn’t understand that Balotelli is, whatever else, a person.

“Mario has been exemplary. He never complained about training alone. To say that it was wrong of Klopp would be an understatement, he was a piece of s*** about it.”

While that isn’t likely to go down too well with Klopp or the Reds, both parties are now moving in their new directions with Balotelli hoping to make his move to France a success.

However, he still had time to deliver his own riposte to club hero Jamie Carragher, who continued his criticism of the striker by noting on Twitter earlier this week: “Balotelli on a free is still paying over the odds by Nice.”

It’s fair to say that the former defender was never one of his biggest fans, and despite the cheeky statement, he’ll be relieved that Balotelli has now finally moved on although it wasn’t without one last response which could yet spark a continued war of words.
