Chelsea striker Diego Costa certainly divides opinion, and it’s probably fair to say that the majority of non-Chelsea fans don’t particularly like him.
Naturally, given the goals that he has scored for the club since his arrival from Atletico Madrid, the Stamford Bridge faithful will feel very differently about him and will defend him from criticism.
However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given his opinion on why opposition fans don’t like Costa, and it’s all to do with the fact that ultimately he’s “world class”.
The German tactician will be plotting a way to stop the 27-year-old in west London on Friday night when Liverpool travel south to play Chelsea, but he wasn’t scared to throw praise his way ahead of the game as evidently there is plenty of respect and recognition there for his talents.
When asked at his press conference on Wednesday as to why supporters don’t like Costa, Klopp replied: “He is world class and that is the best thing football fans can say about you.
“If other supporters love you it is not a good sign. He is a real warrior on the pitch, he uses his body all the time and that is a quality. He was nearly unstoppable against Swansea.”
Watch the video below to hear what Klopp had to say about Costa as he’ll certainly hope that the “world class” forward doesn’t consign his men to defeat in two nights time.
