Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has agreed a new contract with the club after impressing Jose Mourinho, according to The Sun.

Lingard became an important member of United’s first-team squad last campaign under the stewardship of Louis Van Gaal. He made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals. He is clearly highly thought of by Mourinho too, having taken to the field 18 times already this season.

His emergence earned him a call-up to the England national team, where he has gone on to make three appearances.

It appears as though Mourinho is keen to keep hold of the 24-year-old. As per The Sun, Lingard has agreed a new four-year deal with Man United which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2021.

He will also earn as much as £95,000-a-week, which according to The Sun is more than triple his previous wage packet. His pay-rise is testament to how much of an integral member of the United squad he has become.
