Chelsea have joined the race to sign Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac, according to Calciomercato.
Kolasinac is a product of Schalke’s academy, and fast established himself as an important member of the first-team squad. Since breaking through in the 2012/13 campaign, he has made 103 appearances for the German side, finding the back of the net on three occasions.
His time at Schalke could well be set to come to an end, however. As per Calciomercato, Kolasinac has just six months remaining on his contract with the club. The Italian outlet believe that Juventus are very interested in securing his services, and are offering £4.26 million in their efforts to sign him this month.
However, Calciomercato note that Juventus will face stern competition from Antonio Conte’s Chelsea. The Blues have just one natural left-back in Marcos Alonso and could well look to strengthen in that area this month. Kolasinac could well be the man to fill that void.
