(Video) BT Sport pundits and BBC host roundly slam Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool’s FA Cup exit

Gary Lineker led a chorus of criticism for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp immediately after the Reds crashed out of the FA Cup after a 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The German tactician made nine changes to his side from the one that faced Southampton in the EFL Cup in midweek, and it backfired spectacularly as aside from a late onslaught, Wolves were comfortable and thoroughly deserved their win.

Aside from the fact that he made so many changes and put in several youngsters, with Liverpool coming off the back of two consecutive home defeats with the pressure building, it was a big call from Klopp that didn’t work out.

Having now exited both cups and fallen behind in the Premier League title race, things are starting to collapse for the Merseyside giants in terms of their bigger aspirations for the campaign, and Lineker in particular took exception with the apparent “lack of knowledge” of English football.

Meanwhile, the BT Sport Score panel also discussed the result, with both Robbie Savage and Chris Sutton actually agreeing on something for a change, in that Klopp shouldn’t have made so many changes to his side, especially with no European football to be concerned with.

With Chelsea visiting Anfield next week, the Liverpool boss knows that both he and his team must respond and get a positive result. If they don’t, then it looks as though what was a promising season could quickly end up being another disappointing campaign.
